There is a difference between pre ejaculate and the semen. Texture and consistency is quite different. Check to see if it is semen. Having lots of precum is not an issue and occurs when we are horny and ready for intercourse...

Since you know beforehand, you can take pre-cautions. Or if you want to "surprise" your partner...like you said, just enjoy it...
