Report from The STAR (Malaysia) dated 31 October 2012 :-
Panties-stealing Malaysian gets probation
A male masseur who stole a neighbour's undergarments and then used the G-string to masturbate in his room has been placed on 15 months' probation.
Bey Yong Chun, 22, had pleaded guilty in July to commiting theft.
Arguing that his client should not be sent to jail, Counsel Josephus Tan said Bey was of boederline intelligence and had been diagnosed by the Institute of Mental Heath as suffering from a fetish for women's lingerie.
The prosecution had initially objected to probation as he is only a Maslaysian with no roots here.
But Tan had pointed out that Bey had recently changed jobs and had been issued an Employment Pass to work as a clerk for a firm selling religious items.
The Court also heard that he intended to undergo treatment for his psychiatric disorder.
Bey had stolen the lingerie from a laundry line along a corridor near a flat in Jurong East at about 6.15 am on March 26 and stuffed these in his pants' pocket.
He selected a red G-string as a "prop" for masturbation.. The next morning, he tried to steal more panties but the residents called the Police and he was arrested.
