In Singapore there are Michelin star restaurants, high end restaurants, mid range cafes and bistros, fast food, coffee shop, food courts and hawker centres, and now mostly food deliveries.

There is a market for everyone. Does the rich only eat in Michelin star restaurants? I think sometimes flashy cars are also seen in hawker Centres’ car parks. The choice of food is every individual taste, culture and affordability.

We don’t have to criticize people who eat in hawker centres regardless of rich or poor. It’s their choice. I guess more important is where there is good food and people share. Blk xxx toa payoh beef steak good, Blk xxx Ang mo kio mutton soup good etc ... whether good or not, up to individual who tried and see if worth his effort to go eat. 2 individuals may even give different rating for the food.

There is no need to laugh at people who are poor. I have respect for people who live within their means. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Life plays out a different hand to different people.

It is 废话 that some rich people take the bus and like to eat char kway teow. What I'm talking about is people who ONLY eat hawker food and take the bus. Rich people do not ONLY take the bus. Informed people who can afford it avoid hawker food altogether as it is extremely unnutritious. Need to add $2 worth of meat for it be a proper meal. If you're just ordering the basic Mee Pok with a dribble of mince meat, life sucks for you.

Even at the hawker centre, those who can afford do not order the basic meal and avoid certain stalls. Even 小弟弟 Dpower knows how to eat turtle soup. The ambience sucks but the food is of a better quality.

Due to circumstances of both husband and wife working, they have NO CHOICE but to eat out. They may eat themselves BUT no responsible parent feeds their child hawker food or KFC. Home cooked food is the way to go. Or...please upgrade, salads, whole grain is the staple of a modern family and executives. We watch our diet carefully. I certainly do. Ask for less salt and oil, more vegetables. The standard hawker meal sucks. It's a poor man's diet.

The point is that hawker food, just like GL, sucks. If that is all you can afford to eat, life sucks for you. Just like how if you can ONLY afford to take the bus. Sucks.

Your MISTAKE is thinking that just because rich people also eat char kway teow from time to time, there must be something good about it. WRONG. It sucks but once in a while you can eat it for a cheap meal and variety's sake. If char kway teow is what you eat ALL THE TIME, that's pathetic. Get it right. I use a coffee shop toilet occasionally out of necessity and convenience. If you got to pee, you got to pee. But you must be retarded if you think this is the kind of standard I live with. It's a last resort.

My recommendation is to stop wasting your money on the crap served at hawker centre and eat at Subway or learn how to boil soup at home. It's not hard and value for money. But please carry on at GL if you can't move with the times and realise hawker food sucks. As I said before, I hope the GL idiots do not spill over to FL and ruin it. But I have faith that the FL OKTs are much more savvy and alert than the sleepy GL OKTs and they won't let it happen.

For reference, this is GL150 standard. Crap surroundings, crap food. People who can only afford to eat this don't try to show off you eat at Jumbo when you have never been. If you like, you can even order a plate of Mee Goreng to go along with it. Yummy. I'm sure there must be someone out there who drives a 7 series that has eaten it. Personally, it makes me want to vomit. But that's just me.



There was a time when GL150 served turtle soup for a good price. You can forgive the decor. Now, there is no meat in the soup, they don't even wash the vegetables and it's semi-cooked. If this is all you can afford, then this is all you can afford. But dream on if this is anything good.

Are people still interested in best hawker's list? I don't know anyone exchanging info on the best char kuay teow. Boon Tong Kee is good enough for chicken rice, I really can't be bothered to compare. It's just chicken rice. But if Fat Fatt thinks it's worthwhile to exchange FR on hawker food, carry on. Talk here talk there, it's still plus or minus Ruyi.

There is frankly too many restaurant choices for food in Spore to talk about hawker food. Move with the times. There are far better restaurants than Red Star. Comparing Din Tai Fung in Taiwan and Spore more interesting than which hokkien mee is the best. Not sure anyone really bothers.

All sorts of people exist in the world. Most people go to GL to look for nice WL to fuck BUT there are a few rare breed who go to visit OKTs instead, and the WL is not important.

I don't know about 'many'. I think few go to oolong. There are some people who don't care about the filthy rooms or bad WLs. So long as the OKT is friendly and smile at them, their gay needs are met and their lanjiao is happy.
