1st Batam Trip

Hi....

I will be going to Batam next week with a friend. I have read all Batam thread here and found them to be very useful for my virgin trip here.

But it seem that certain resources listed here are not update like for example, I follow a lead to call up a driver but the HP Number not in used liao

So I am now asking for anyone or friend who sincerely wants to help to recommend a good and reasonable pricing chinese driver which I and my friend could use.

You can try the regular driver that I always use. He is Ah Tek (Ronny). he is chinese, can speak mandarin, hokkien and of course bahasa.

Ah Tek charges SGD30 for 2D1N, round the clock (Really round the clock! I called him at 3am to get him to buy food for me). Try to call him 1 day before you need his service, just in case he is already booked.

You can get him to book hotel for you as well. Ah Tek will receive commission for cewek booking and hotel. He will inform you about this if you are his first time customer, but do try to understand cos Commision = Bread and butter.

Great Service and Very Reliable!!! Please try him out.

I've engaged his service before, overall quite good for first trip, but on second engagement, he borrowed 150SG from us ard 11pm saying he had problems and will return us next morning, but next morning he told us lies like he never went home coz no key so couldn't get $$$ to repay us...saying will return us next trip....but when we called him wanting to engage his service and at the same time get back $$$ from him, he said he's car spoilt...knn

Frankly, it doesn't sound like something Ronny will do. He is not only serving me but also many old birds of Batam cheongster, we would have heard something.

These are serious accusation that can affect somebody's livelihood (just like those you have said about FL with aids etc) Anyway, I have sent you a PM, please reply.

If you are not comfortable with what other samster says, please do no engage Ronny's service, I dun want you to spoil your trip. But then again, if you engaged his service, please post you most true comments about him.

Hmmm...ah tek...I remember him, I used him on my virgin trip on Batam but that was way long back....hehehehe

Ok...back to ah tek...when I was using him, he seems to be a great guy. He not acting as a Driver but rather as a tour guide. He intro me a place in Batam called the Chye Shen Temple, It a great place to change your luck....in fact won a couple of rounds in casino after prayers..... On one occasion, I didn't seem to be able to find the right cewek to click and this drivers practically drove to round and round to KTV,Joint etc... just to look for one and he does not hurried you to get a cewek unlike most drivers I had before. I think I have visited almost the whole of the cewek Joints in Nagoya that day but the best part was I still didn't get a cewek...end up in a dicso and he actually help me to hook up with a freelancer as I don't even speak a word of malay then, and he helped in bargaining the rate and actually bring down the rate for me and the important part here is that he did it without getting any comission.Think that what I would call "Service".

Paranoidspy are you sure we are talking about the same person??? er...don't be mistaken...I am not out here to promote this driver or endorse his service but rather sharing my experiences with follow samsters.

Rubber Duckling... nice nick...reminded me about the rubber-ducklie I used to play with when I was a babyl... It all up to you whether to try it or not and maybe later to post your FR for fellow samsters to read for their effort in helping. If you are not comfortable with this driver, then maybe some other samsters can recommend another driver or better still see when you are going and post the date and hope to see if senior samsters are willing to take you under thier wings....with them, there is not even the need to engage a driver.....
